Jonesborough, TN with sister and family

Day 11 –
Monday, Sept 2 – Day in Jonesborough, TN with Barnettes and Masseys.

Natalie and Mathew came over in the morning and we all headed for a hike to a waterfall in the Cherokee National Forest. When we got to the trail head, we were a little surprised by the beware of bear signs. They even closed the campground due to "excessive bear activity". But that didn't stop us… it only changed our plans for where we had our picnic, because we didn't want to be a picnic. It was a short hike to a beautiful waterfall. We got lots of great photos. We had our picnic next to a little stream down the road. The weather was perfect!

The beautiful waterfall

Precious great nephew, Matthew

From there we went to Bristol Caverns. We really enjoyed the beautiful caverns and had a great tour guide. The caverns weren't  really big, but there was a lot of variety. A stop at Starbucks was next on the agenda.

Starbucks stop...drink for all!
We went back Mary's place and they took us on a tour of their beautiful property. I sat on their screened in porch and blogged for a while. The weather was again perfect! We had another delicious dinner and great conversation. Oh yea...I got to help Natalie give Matthew a bath. He is so fun and so...cute!

Day 12 –
Tuesday, Sept 3 – Day in Jonesborough, TN with Barnettes and Masseys

Jon and Mary had to work today, but Mary got off early! I went ran 5 miles through the  country roads.

Jon and Mary's beautiful home

It was so pretty. Joe and I walked in Old Town Jonesborough. We walked through some shops and had some great sandwiches for lunch at Main Street Cafe.

Enjoying a nice lunch with my wonderful husband

When Mary got home, we took off for Natalie's. It was so nice to see her home after seeing it on skype so many times. They have a beautiful home. We all went to the old town main street of Kingsport, TN, where she lives. The best part was the toy store with unique toys. Mary and I had fun picking some toys out for Madalyn. After that Mary treated us to yogurt!

Said good-bye
We had a nice evening with Mary and Jon. So sorry that our visit was so short. We had a relaxing, very enjoyable time!
