Day 5 –
Tuesday, Aug 27 – Sapulpa,OK
w/Fannings
We had a comfortable, quiet
night sleep. Karen and I went walking/running in a park near her home. It is a
beautiful area. I forgot to get a picture. They planned some fun activities for
us to do for the day. Our first stop was to visit Hannah, their daughter, who
is about 7 months pregnant with her baby girl. She looks great and has a
beautiful home! We drove to Pops which is a store and restaurant that
sells over 600 kinds of soda. We eat picked one out. It was very fun!
Then we
found a Mediterranean food restaurant call Simply Falafel in Edmond. We had fun ordering our food, sharing
our food with each other and had lots of food left over.
Next, we drove to the Arcadia Round Barn, which is
another landmark stop on Route 66. We walked around the inside, went upstairs
and sang Amazing Grace. It has amazing acoustics because of the way
the roof is made. We went home from there. Later that night we watched What about Bob? It was Joe and my first time
seeing it. It was really funny.

Day 6 –
Wednesday, Aug 28 – Sapulpa,OK
We all had breakfast together
and planned our day. We had mentioned to Mike that we like to
fish, but hadn’t done it much. He arranged for us to go fishin’!!! I first went
with Karen to their church to set up for AWANA and went to the post office to
get a Sapulpa cancellation stamp. We went to their friend Earl’s
house and then drove to Quail Run Ranch where the owner let us fish in his lake.
We had a fun rough ride through beautiful country side in a Polaris ATV to the
lake. We all fished for a while and everybody caught at least one. Joe caught
5! We went back to the ranch and looked at their hunting dogs and quails. It
was such a fun day.
I think this was Joe's 5th one! |

That evening we went to AWANA
at their church. I went with Karen to visit a lady and picked up kids at a
trailer park for AWANA. Karen picks kids up every week. Joe and I joined Mike’s
Bible study and his teaching to the High School kids. We also visited with some
very nice people. We were so thankful to worship with Mike and Karen not only
at their church, but the whole time we were with them. So much talk of the Lord
and His precious Word was such a blessing. I think there was non-stop
conversation.
